Please check the E-class for the updated due date.
***Thank You!***
Thanks for a
wonderful time during the midterm exams to get to know each and every one of you. During the small talks, it was my hope to
connect and get to know each of you more personally since we don’t get to have
a lot of time during the class to get to know each other.
I want to also thank
you all for sharing the intimate details of your lives and sharing with me of
your personhood. Some of you went out of your way to take time to prepare for the exam and to make it fun for me, I really appreciated it.
The speaking exams were
physically exhausting as I have 250 students this semester but it was well worth it! Thanks for being patient with me and being understanding!

Just a reminder, please be quiet in the hallway while you wait. I do not want other professors to come yelling at you guys. Please arrive to your exam at least 10 minutes before your time and come right in when you see the previous group leaving. If I'm running late, please be patient and wait for me.
Thank you!!!

***Identify any misuse of English language in signs in your neighborhood***
For your 5% of your homework grade, please post anywhere between 3-5 picture with incorrect use of English that you see around your neighborhood. This assignment is designed to get you to be more aware of your surroundings and also in hopes that we can one day clean up all the incorrect signs around town. Please add the following information with each picture and POST ON E-CLASS.
1. Where was the picture taken?
2. How would you go about getting this sign fixed or who would you tell?
3. What is wrong with the use of English in the picture?
4. Anything else you might want to add such as: was it humorous? embarrassing? etc..
(One student asked if they could critique the English lyrics from K-pop songs. Anything that is of your interest if fine with me. Just have some fun doing this.)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. The final due date to post will be Week 15 of your class day but please plan ahead and get this done as soon as you can!
Good luck!

How to mark participation & lates?
How do I check my participation checks? What do I do if I'm late to class?
PARTICIPATION
Remember it is your responsibility to make sure you check each day for participation check. You can only get participation checks for the following:
- raising your hand and speaking in front of the WHOLE class.
- answering a question I asked.
- Reading for the class.
- Answering a bonus question.
- Being a part of a winning team
ATTENDANCE
I will take attendance at the beginning of class and should you come in late after that, it is your responsibility to come put "L" for late and get rid of the "X" that is by you name for absence.
- = here, X = absent, L = late
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me during class! Let's have some fun this semester!!!
***Welcome Back to School***
